What Own The Day is
Own The Day (https://owntheday.lol) is a public guestbook covering the 366 days of the calendar year. Anyone may sign a day and light candles at no cost. Separately, a date may be claimed by a paid deed.
What you post
Everything you submit is public and intended to be permanent. You keep ownership of your words; you grant us a licence to display, cache, and reproduce them on the site and in share cards. Do not post anything you do not have the right to post.
Not allowed, anywhere on the site:
- Slurs, harassment, threats, or content targeting a person or group.
- Mockery or celebration of a tragedy, an attack, or a death.
- Impersonating another person or a business.
- Advertising, spam, malware, or links to either.
- Sexual content involving minors, or any other illegal content.
Moderation
Free signatures are filtered automatically and held for human review when flagged. Every deed is reviewed by a human before it is displayed. We may remove or refuse any content, and we may disable ownership of any date.
Deeds
- A deed grants a display position on one date page for as long as it is the live deed for that date, and nothing else.
- A deed can be taken over by another buyer at the current price plus $5. That is the mechanic, not a fault.
- All sales are final. Deeds that break these terms are removed without a refund.
- The ownership history of every date is published permanently as a public ledger.
- A deed is not a trademark, not a legal claim to a calendar date, and confers no rights off this site.
Availability
We commit to hosting signed content for ten years from the date it was posted. We make no promise beyond that, and we will not use the word "forever" while money is involved. If the site is discontinued, a full archive of public content will be published before shutdown.
Liability
The site is provided as-is, without warranty. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
